Advanced Layout
Xmind offers enhanced control over your mind map's structure, including free positioning of branches, flexible placement of floating topics, and the ability to overlap topics.
Branch Free-Positioning
Function: Enables free movement of mind map branches for personalized layouts.
Usage: In format panel under Advanced Layout, select Branch Free-Positioning to commence branch maneuvering. To undo, use the
Ctrl+Zshortcut or uncheck.
This feature is applicable only to the Mind Map structure.
Flexible Floating Topic
Function: Allows placing floating topics anywhere within the mind map without automatic linkage to other topics.
Usage: Find Advanced Layout in the format panel, check Flexible Floating Topics. To undo, use the
Ctrl+Zshortcut or uncheck.
Topic Overlap
Function: Permits overlapping of mind map topics, enriching creative mapping possibilities.
Usage: Opt for Advanced Layout in format panel, check Topic Overlap to initiate floating topic arrangement. To undo, use the
Ctrl+Zshortcut or uncheck.
This feature is commonly used in conjunction with Flexible Floating Topics.
